B13(THK) is a queen of Thomas Künzel (DE) mated in 2014, descendant G17 of AthosSt80R. She is a “Old Buckfast” who comes from a long strain of pure Athos Stavronikita-combination.

Die B13(THK) ist nichts für Frühtrachtregionen. Sie hat relativ schwach ausgewintert, mit langer Brutpause. Im Frühsommer hatte sich aber ein schlagkräftiges Volk einwickelt, welches in der Edelkastanie überzeugen konnte. Es handelt sich um eine ausgesprochen sanftmütige und ruhige Biene — auf Rauch konnte ich häufig verzichten. Das macht das Bearbeiten äußerst angenehm, auch weil die Rähmchenoberträger blitzeblank sind. Absolut kein Wirrbau!

Die B13(THK) ist eine Biene für jedermann, die in Spättrachtregionen ihr ganzes Potential ausschöpfen kann.
